Sibiu - Part One

The Regional train to Sibiu was more crowded than we expected with folks returning to home and school after the long weekend. We pulled into Sibiu at 6:15 pm in a light rain with the forecast calling for rain for the next 24 hours. So we installed ourselves in a cozy hotel just off the main drag.

First thing the next day we headed to the somewhat helpful tourist office. The most valuable piece of info: like us, she uses Accuweather.com as her weather oracle. Haha!

The next day we planned. We visited the local Billa grocery stores  4 times. And we started a self-guided city walking tour in the cold (45 F) and drizzle, and finished in the cold and sun. It was the coldest day of our trip to far.

  2. Kathy, The town is very photogenic; perhaps that was helpful in becoming the European Cultural Capital for 2007....The cold weather lasted only a few days. Today, 09 May, it's back in the 70's. ;-)
