Mikulov - Day One

Mikulov is in the wine region of Czech. We went there for the hiking, not the wine. After arriving at noon and finding a great apartment, we walked 12 kms north to Dolni Vestonice and rode the bus back to Mikulov. The next day we rode the bus to Valtice, walked 12 kms to Lednice, then took the bus back to Mikulov via Pavlov.

Each night after dinner we took an evening stroll. Mikulov is a very scenic town, and being on a small hill, it has scenic views over the surrounding plains.

View from the train window somewhere between Olomouc and Breclav. I think these are turnips, but if we were in China they would be rape flowers.

  1. Holy bat guano, Robin!

I can't begin to keep up with you two Meckley Earthers. I suffered an ankle injury while we visited CA and spend a bit of each day recovering. This has interfered with my surfing but ... how did I get this far behind two folks walking 12 KM/day and posting photos each evening? You are amazing!

The content has changed quite a bit from Italy to the CR, not so many cathedrals and more scenery. Were CR cathedrals blitzed in WW II?

Any way, keep them coming. I will rewind and try to catch up with you.
