Eating in India

Eating in South India has been awesome. There are many restaurants with friendly staff, tasty food, English menus, fair prices (less than 2 USD feeds two people), tons of vegetarian options, fresh veggies and juices, and a variety of cuisines: Chinese, Western, North and South Indian.

We have slowly been learning the local names for the different dishes, the restaurant protocol (tipping, toilet, table sharing, tap water, etc), and how to order coffee that is not too sweet.

Here's a photo of Sun-Ling about to dig in to a Paper Dhosa in the Santosh Hotel Restaurant in Mysore.

Now that's a Dhosa - Mysore, India

That is a huge "Paper Dhosa"! I am envious! Have safe and wonderful time there.

Thought people suggested NOT to drink tap water.

We had a big gathering here on Jan.31, about 20 people for a dim sum lunch at the Neo China in Cary. Missed Tony/Kui (who got a cold) and you two.

Thanks for all the comments! It's nice to know the folks are reading our blog.

We haven't been drinking water right out of just any tap, but if other restaurant patrons are drinking the free provided water, then we do it also.

This is our 2nd trip to India. More about the contrasts btw the two trips in a later post.
