On Jan 25th there was the grand parade. There was zero reference to San Pablo. It was really a celebration of the city. A large part of the parade was honoring government workers from all levels, provincial, city, and neighborhood (barangay) level, and of all branches. The parade went on for two hours. This is a town of 54 thousand residents. If the POTUS had been present, surely he would have been apoplectic.
At the Food Bazaar, adjacent to the Cathedral, one stall was selling very tasty fried noodles. The cook was a genius!

While waiting for the Grand Parade to start, we made a short trip over to the RG Jar Factory to see it's still-in-use 200 y.o. sloping, 50 meters long, kiln (2nd, 3rd, and 4th below). Very cool. Today they make jugs, bricks, and pipes.

The Grand Parade.

We just had to go back to the noodle guy for one more plate of noodles (1st below). Then over to the Tofu Squares ladies for deep-fried tofu squares (2nd and 3rd below).

Food looks great! Liz
Yes! The food keeps getting better (more or less). Stay tuned. About a week after Vigan, we ran into some excellent Vegetarian Restaurants in Baguio.
