We were in Sydney over the Easter holiday. The city was particularly lively. We liked everything we saw, everywhere we walked. In fact, the most underwhelming part was the Sydney Opera House. I didn't like its color - I was expecting gleaming white, not the drab taupe.
Unsurprisingly Sydney has even more transport than Brisbane and they all mostly run over the holiday - what a relief. The price is rather fair too - capped at ~AU$10 a day for weekends and holidays.
Waiting for the 5:45 AM bus from Byron Bay to Casino.

On the XPT (Express Passenger Train) from Casino to Sidney.

Our hotel in Sydney was at the corner of York and Druitt, sharing a corner with the QVB (Queen Victoria Building). First below is our view every time we left the hotel. Second, the interior of the QVB,

The majority of grocery stores had closed or on reduced hours for the upcoming holidays so our first stop was the Aldi.

Good Friday in English culture means Hot Cross Buns. We had lunch at a vegan Vietnamese resto that served them as appetizer and dessert!

The Botanic Gardens and Art Gallery of NSW are next to each other. We visited both; twice.

There were views of the Sydney Harbour, Sydney Opera House, and Harbour Bridge from dozens of locations. Here are some favorites.

Some street shots near our hotel.

One day we walked (1st below) over to Darling Harbour (2nd below), going by the Convention Center (3rd below) and breezing through the ho-hum Chinatown (4th below).

The end of our self-guided Art Deco tour of Darlinghurst brought us to the Taylor Square / Oxford Street area. Lots of Pride!

We walked through Hyde Park (1st below) and our way to the Cathedral (2nd).

Bonus. I inadvertently captured the constellation Orion in the upper right corner of this nighttime photo of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA).
