To Delphi and Up

Today we left Olympia under mostly clear skies on the 7:40 am bus, changed buses at Prygos, and several hours later crossed the Rio–Antirrio bridge near Patras leaving the Peloponnese behind and hitting the mainland on our way to Delphi.

Luck was on our side and an anticipated 2 hour wait in Itea for the onward bus to Delphi, turned out to be just 5 minutes. Arriving in Delphi we quickly found a home at Sybilla Hotel, then hit the nearby E4 Path - one of the European long distance paths - for an afternoon walk with views back to Ancient Delphi and the Gulf of Corinth.

From Pyrgos to Patras we saw more varieties of farming than the olives, oranges, sheep and goats of the SE Peloponnese including peas, potatoes, corn, ducks, chickens, and rabbits. I guess there is more flat land.

The E4 path is marked with yellow and black blazes and follows the route of the ancient Sacred Way from Delphi to Mount Parnassus.

The GM sat view of the Rio-Antirrio Bridge zoomed in shows great detail. A wonder of the world? I'd think so.
