Dear Readers, Family, and Friends,
Thank you for your recent messages and comments! Considering the recent earthquake, tsunami warnings, and plane accident in Japan, it's no surprise that you've been reaching out. However, as usual, we are behind. Although the blog is in Tokyo, during those events we were in Shanghai, tucked safely behind the Great Firewall.
In real time we are back in the Free World; that is, the internet is fast (faster than at home) and not blocked here in Hanoi, Vietnam. We arrived just a few hours ago and are relaxing at our homestay apartment.
Sun-Ling says there are only 2 or 3 more Tokyo posts, then on to Shanghai!

Sun-Ling and John have been traveling the earth since 2008 while blogging, eating vegetarian and vegan, and riding public transportation. We love uphill day hikes, 20th-century architecture, Roman ruins, all bodies of water, local markets, shopping for groceries, aqueducts, miradors, trip planning, blablacar, and more.
