Tasmania: Mount Fields National Park

From Hobart we took a guided tour (1st below) to see Mount Fields National Park, the other old national park in Tasmania. I loved the temperate rainforest with fern trees, beautiful waterfalls, and tall eucalyptus grove. We even saw a wallaby in the wild (2nd below).

















The tour went by Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, something we probably wouldn't have chosen to do otherwise. It turned out we both rather enjoyed it.They say the animals have been injured and can't return to the wild or they are orphaned.

In order of appearance below: a wombat, echidnas, kangaroos, and a tasmanian devil. Full disclosure: we fed and scratched the necks of the small kangaroos which you can see in one of the videos at the end of this post.









There are Hops Plantations just outside Mount Fields National Park.
