Greece: Naxos

From Santorini we headed back to Athens by ferry. To break up the trip we made a stay in Naxos, the largest of the Cycladic islands, and it's green. While there are a fair number of tourists in Naxos, the island is hardly frequented by cruise ships, maybe once a week, and outside winter.

One day we took the bus to have a short hike from Melanes, the antithesis of our Santorini walk. I imagine very little has changed over the millennia along this route.

Thirty minutes later we passed through the tiny, idyllic village of Myli.

And we return to Milanes via some beautiful country footpaths and roads, with an occasional view to Naxos and the sea.
